Just Bring It..
We have often heard the cliche : “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”. Indian cricket team is indeed facing its toughest challenge in the form of an Australian tour. A country, better known for demolishing the opposition with (what they call..) aggressive cricket .. and add to that the sledging, the umpiring decisions, the racism accusations.. you have a perfect winning recipe prepared for Australians. Is it a coincidence that every time an Asian team tours Australia, they are invariably dragged into some controversies ?? Definitely it is not.. Australians are tough to beat for they are the best in the business. But the way they got their 16th test win (in-a-row), left many purists a lot to think about. The arrogance shown by Ponting didn’t help the matter either.
It seemed like Indians would pull out of the tour and it was reasonable enough. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it wasn’t the case. And the stage was set for Perth, which has long been considered to be their den. 4-0 series loss came to my mind again and again. I just couldn’t think how on earth this Indian team can fight back on a venue like Perth and win the test match. But they did it. They proved everyone wrong. The tough did get going for Indian team. And.. India halted the Australian juggernaut
. All the credit must go to the captain, Anil Kumble who let his performance do all the talking and inspired the whole team to perform. He surely is a role model. 600 wickets and still going strong.. The win at Perth meant a lot more to Indians than just a win. I don’t know what would it be like at the end of the 4th test match.. Head says 3-1 [
], heart says 2-2 [
]. One thing is certain. Indians have made a statement. We are here to play.. play a fair game of cricket. So u Au$$ies.. Just Bring It
..(in the wwe superstar – The Rock‘s style)
Cricket .. (or is it controversies )
The terms cricket and controversies have become synonyms of late. The one liner “Cricket is a gentleman’s game” has become the biggest joke. Trust is the last thing you will see in the cricket field. “Winning by hook or crook” found its meaning with all its glory on a fifth day of a test match which had seen cricketing soldiers fighting it out for four days, only to find themselves bakrified by some f@#$%^& sequence of events . And yes.. umpires and players have interchanged their roles in a game.
This is not all.. The (reverse) racism accusations couldn’t have come at a better time. Cultural differences is the word Aussies use to defend themselves. WTF is going on ?? Hell with these Aussies..
(This was the [inside] story, that was disclosed by a reliable source)
